As Founding Pastor of The Gathering Place Church, Matt Scott is most commonly known for his energetic teaching style and passion for developing “fully devoted” followers of Christ. TGP Church was founded with the vision and intent to raise up a church that God would use to reach people far from Himself, and then help them grow in their faith.

Since it began in 2011, The Gathering Place Church has grown to average more than 1500 people attending each weekend. TGP is known for its life-giving culture and focus on leading people into a personal and growing relationship with God.

Pastor Matt has a deep desire to see every person reach their spiritual growth potential. This is why TGP Church offers many avenues for its congregation to identify their gifts and purpose in hopes of using them to serve the Lord. With approximately 400 ministry partner (Serve Team) positions available each weekend, TGP Church gives every single member an opportunity to be a minster.

Pastor Matt and his wife Stevi have five children and live in Moody, Alabama where TGP Church was planted in 2011. Pastor Matt and Stevi are passionate about leadership development and church planting. They have served the Lord in ministry for 8 years and look forward to what the Lord has in store for the future of The Gathering Place Church.
